Based on 867 reviewsIron Age is widely recognized as a vibrant and popular Korean barbecue spot in Washington, DC, praised for its extensive all-you-can-eat menu featuring flavorful marinated meats and classic side dishes. Reviewers consistently highlight the energetic atmosphere enhanced by dynamic music and multiple video displays, creating an enjoyable dining environment. The service is generally described as attentive and helpful, with staff frequently assisting in cooking and maintaining the grill, although some guests note a brisk pace influenced by the restaurant’s time limits. Parking can be a challenge due to neighborhood restrictions, but the overall experience remains positive. Patrons recommend arriving with the full party to streamline seating, and the restaurant's balance of quality offerings and engaging ambiance makes it a favored destination for Korean barbecue enthusiasts.
It's always a good place to get KBBQ. You have to park in the neighborhood 2-3 blocks, nothing far, you might get lucky parking in front. Service is always good, but sometimes I feel like they're rushing you to get out. I understand the 90-minute rule, but I just need a 5 minute break.
Definitely 10/10...highly recommend. We went here on a Sunday and had a super short wait, maybe 5 minutes. After being seated the waiter took our drink order and explained how things work at the restaurant. We were able to order 2 meats at a time and we cooked them ourselves. The waiter would periodically come to the table to adjust the fire or cut up the meat/vegetables for us. We tried the lemon chicken thighs, garlic pork steak, spicy squid, and the Hawaiian bulgogi...everything was delicious, but the lemon chicken was my absolute favorite! The vibe and ambiance was nice too...I loved the music they were playing. The staff was super friendly. I had a great experience and can't wait to come here again!
Great experience. It was first time there with my daughter and her friends. One thing, make sure all the parties arrived because they seem to have issue seating you first. One we seated, the it was a great experience overall. The food was fantastic and the waiter was awesome. If you like meat, this is your place. It is 25 per person and tax 10%. Total for 4 is 110, not including tip. Here are the photos, hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Iron Age in Columbia Heights is the go-to spot for Korean BBQ lovers! The vibe is energetic, the music adds to the fun, and the all-you-can-eat menu is packed with flavorful options. The staff is quick to assist and keeps the grill running smoothly. I especially loved the marinated beef and spicy pork.
A great all-you-can-eat Korean bbq restaurant. My favorites are the Hawaiian beef bulgolgi, spicy pork bulgolgi, and thin sliced brisket. Love the sides too - kimchi, japchae, steamed egg, etc. the restaurant has a clubby vibe that plays the latest k-pop music videos nonstop on a half dozen projects across the different walls. Would love to hear some old school Hyori , super junior, and girls generation too.. all in all great place, the staff are super attentive and were constantly asking what we wanted to order next, and were regularly swapping out the grill for a clean one
The nicest Korean barbecue experience I’ve ever had stateside. Very impressive service from Keysi - she was so sweet and attentive and went above and beyond! We were able to cycle through 5 different meats before hitting the time limit. Yummy, amazing meal with friends. Clean facility, cool atmosphere, and good drinks as well.
We had a great time in Iron age during our first visit in Washington D.C. The food was nice (for all the raw/marinated meats & side dishes) and our server, Carlos, he was awesome because he helped us so rapidly that we could get anything right after asking to him ) The one thing that I'm suggesting to Iron Age is to add soup/noodle items on their menu. It'll be more fantastic experience if we could have them with the meats. Nice food, venue, and staff, I'll definitely find Iron Age again when I visit DC in the future.
Went on a Saturday with my wife and some family (4 total). We waited about 20 minutes so not bad at all! Our family had been before so they showed us the ropes but staff is also very helpful in explaining things. We got the brisket to start then the white salad, kimchi, the Hawaiian marinated beef, some others I forgot, and then a bunch more brisket as that was our favorite! It cost 32 a person and you have 90 minutes to eat whatever you want! Needless to say, it was epic! 10/10
